This school year has been different due to the yucky bug. I have loved having my family home more as it has given me time to be with them. I love jumping around the room while they watch tv or sit with them on the couch while they read a book. I miss my tranquil days of being home by myself but I am happy that my family is safe and together during this time. I hope that you have a fantastic summer and you stay safe and well. Happy Summer!
All my love, Tulip

Today, Mrs. Harden found the cutest picture of a squirrel smelling a flower. She had the girls look carefully and quietly at the photograph. She prompted them to be ready to answer: What’s going on in this picture? What do you see that makes you say that? What more can we find? Then they talked about what everyone observed and shared their views. Next she had the girls write a journal entry that included a list of 5 items they noticed or wondered. She also had them answer the following questions: How would you caption this picture taken by Dick van Duijn? What’s the squirrel thinking? What’s the flower thinking? What are your thoughts? I am excited to hear what you think! Stay well, Tulip The other morning I was sitting on the couch listening to my family's discussion. It turns out that Mrs. Harden wrote a grant to send each child at Hamilton/SOTA I a forever book. A forever book is a book that they could keep for all times and not return it to the school library. The books can be shared with family members and read over and over again. The grant was given by Thrivent Financial (@Thrivent). Mrs. Harden used the grant plus a few classroom funds and purchased one book for each student in the school grades Pre-K through grade 5. This was over 300 books. How aweseome! I wonder if any of the books feature bunnies? Did you get your book? Stay well, Tulip #Livegenerously |
